Side Tournament Extravaganza!

In a CVGC first, you can compete for fabulous prizes in a series of side tournaments to take place throughout the weekend.  These prizes will make great conversation pieces and one may even help you in the main event!

Unlike the main event, I’m going to tell you what games you’ll see so that you’ll have no excuses!  These are purely optional and we may have too much interest for everyone to compete in all of the events.

Also note, I have no idea what games are in the tournament.  There may be some overlap, so practicing for these may even help you in the real McCoy! 

In no particular order, you can

• Battle your friends for air superiority in the alternate reality skies of Crimson Skies!
• Fence your way to victory for the honor of sacrificing yourself to the mythological Norse serpent Níðhöggr in Nidhogg!
• Fight for the honor of your house in Bushido Blade!
• Dodge a flurry of arrows and koala as you watch everyone else kill each other in Towerfall!
• Save your vault in record time in what is sure to be the crowd favorite – Fallout speed run! If any of these overlap with the main event, I think this is the one.  Aboth and Woot will be live streaming a demo of this Friday night, so tune in for insider tips!
• Boost your way to a team victory in Rocket League! Just hope your teammate isn’t a jabroni!
• Finally, in the only one on a set schedule and set to begin at 3 PM on Saturday, outsmart your opponents in Blokus – kind of like board game Tetris – for the right to choose where you start in the main event of CVGC!
